My Top 5 Favorite TV Shows

1. Supernatural. No one watches fifteen seasons of anything unless they really love it. What makes this show special is its ability to not take itself too seriously - it plays into its own cheesiness while building strong storylines and character development. Plus, I’m forever in love with Dean Winchester.

2. Grey’s Anatomy. Once again, to love this show, you must be in it for the long haul. Almost every original main character has been killed or written off, yet it remains an enjoyable, emotionally-evocative drama. The consistent theme through it all is that Meredith Grey is a total badass.

3. Yellowstone. As a horse girl, I love this twist on classic western stories. It repaints the trope of Cowboys versus Indians by paying tribute to Native American culture in a respectful way, showing the conflict from multiple viewpoints, and elaborating upon the storyline with multiple subplots. The characters show some major growth, but as an audience member, I felt like I also changed throughout the series. I grew to understand just how skewed the truth can be and really questioned how far I would go to protect my family.

4. One Tree Hill. This show is hands-down the best teen drama series ever released. I know the whole genre sounds ridiculous, but this show has a special gift for drawing viewers in. The conflicts are just high-stakes enough to get your heart racing, but not dark enough to stray from its intended audience. I feel like I really got to know each and every one of the characters. I will forever be a Tree Hill Raven.

5. The Witcher. It’s only one season long, but I was fully engrossed throughout the entire season. I am not usually drawn to high fantasy TV shows, but I loved how the story was told in this one. It flashes to the future, then the past, then reverses again. It really pushed me to keep paying attention so I could piece together what happened.
